When you login to your blog’s dashboard using your admin account (by navigating to http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin and entering the username and password), you will find a default test post (“Hello World”). A test comment and a test page (“About”) is also created by default.
What is a Blog Post?
Blog posts form the main content on you blog. You will keep updating the blog by adding new posts. Since the blog displays the posts in reverse-chronological order, the newer posts will be displayed on top. Blog posts are also meant for interacting with your readers. A comments section is displayed at the end of each post where readers can add comments or read existing ones. You are required to moderate/respond to the comments.
How To Create a Blog Post?
To create a new blog post, simply navigate to Dashboard -> Posts -> Add New. On the new screen, simply start writing the article. Don’t forget to create categories & relevant tags and add the post to proper category and tags.
What is a Page?
The static content on your blog are create using pages. For example, your about page, Contact page, policies etc are created in the form of pages. So we can say that pages form the static content while posts are dynamic content on your blog.
How To Create a Page?
In order to create a page, go to the dashboard and navigate to Pages -> Add New. There you have to add the content just like you did for posts.
